Unemployed? Check out hot new career as Doggy Daycare Driver

I decided to look around and see what sort of jobs are coming up in British Columbia, Canada's now most prosperous province, since Alberta's oil industry has crashed and burned. I note that Alberta's NDP Energy Minister Marg McCuaig-Boyd has suggested Alberta's unemployed oil field workers should relocate to British Columbia as she concedes the opportunities for employment are better there than in her socialist paradise.

Here is a job I found for at least one displaced oil field worker. I use to live in Alberta and I remember when I lived there during the oil boom there were rows upon rows of good paying blue collar jobs for a guy like me to choose from when looking on Kijiji or some other help wanted message board. Scouring the help wanted section of Kijiji and comparable sites for Vancouver does not bring up anything close to the abundance of jobs that use to be Alberta's reality even two years ago. Vancouver's "boom" is not even close to what the Alberta's boom was, but if one desires a low paid service job it can be found.

To my unemployed Alberta friends, before you pack up and head to Vancouver for this "hot" doggy daycare driver job, rent for a not too luxurious 2 bedroom apartment in Vancouver averages around $2000 a month. If you want something nice and in a good location in the 2 bedroom category, be prepared to pay over $3,000 a month.....

If you can make due with a one bedroom in Vancouver's drug and prostitute ridden east side, you might be able to find it at $1200 a month or so.

I think your entire take home pay (after taxes and deductions) will be around $1200 a month if you work a full 40 hour week at this "doggy daycare driver" job......

Canada has indeed adopted socialist economics. Canada's economy had been hobbled by socialism and devasted thanks to a fanatical opposition by the left to its oil industry, the single biggest economic engine fueling the country after Ontario's socialists destroyed their manufacturing sector. I note this employer is offering a wage that doesn't even cover cheap rent and food, but the employer does have definite expections of what they want from their low paid employee in terms of skills and performance.

I am not really surprised that the first service job I came across when doing a search for Vancouver is a low paid one that caters to wealthy Vancouverites who have a inordinate affection towards their animals.

Welcome to the new Canada!
