Twitter?

Postby SaintNobody » Sat Jan 03, 2009 10:34 pm

Hi folks.

Just popping in.

Have you guys joined Twitter yet?

It's the latest thing.

Just thought I'd suggest it to you. I think pro-lifers should be a little more hip in the social media.

Never heard of it. But if you want us to join give us some more info and maybe I will consider anyways.

I am rather swamped with my Calgary court case and pending trial, not to mention long hours as a trucker and trying to keep this site current for those who visit............. frustrated1

It's a way to networking. It's all part of networking. See, what you do is your join and then you get a bunch of followers and a lot of them will follow you back.

And you send updates. And they get them.

And it's really easy.

You go to places like

http://www.topconservativesontwitter.org/

To find people to follow.

It's still new in Canada. I want pro-lifers to get ahead with this.

One thing you can do is get a following (easy on twitter) then link to articles on your forum as updates.

You can attract more visitors that way.

I'm Roseblue

I've been getting more hits on my blog. I also use Twitterfeed to help.

You could have a "Free North America" or "Bill Whatcott" account.

Then you follow all the people on the list I told you about.

You can also check out my account and follow the people there (lots of so-cons).

I think "Free North America" might attract people.

Thank you StNobody. I studied the links and created a "BillWhatcott" account.
I believe that this is a powerful networking tool, many politicians have jumped in I noticed. smile1

Thanks, Ev.

We Canadians are way behind on this. We need to get on the bandwagon and harness its power.

Another piece of advice: put a "follow me on Twitter" link on FNA.

I was thinking of just a regular HTML link with your Twitter account

e.g.

http://www.twitter.com/BillWhatcott

Do you know how to follow people? (That's kind of the point!)

I've linked this at the portal page, hope it helps.

Not sure about this but I followed your account and it appeared on Bill's "Following List".
I hope I'm doing the right thing.

I see that you're following people. That's good.

Now what you need to do is

1) Twitter on your twitter page. After all: that's the point!

You can post an editorial sentence, or pass on an article (you can use tinyurl to shorten URLS to use up fewer characters)

http://www.tinyurl.com

If you don't post updates (i.e. something interesting for people to read!) people won't follow you.

2) follow more people.

Try Top Conservatives on Twitter:

http://www.topconservativesontwitter.org/

When you follow several hundred people, get TweetDeck. It helps keep tweets straight. Google it.

68 followings
39 followers
7 updates

Is this good indication or I need to twitter more?
I've also downloaded and studied the Twitter 101 Guide.
I am now addicted to TWITTER, this is really a brilliant idea!
Congratulations and thank you to all the people behind this excellent networking tool.
Most especially thank you StNobody for inviting us....keep on tweeting! bravo1

I'd try for at least a couple hundred followers. I follow 1300 and it's A LOT.

Here's an article that may be of interest:
